Spring Notes...

The days seem to rush by.  I jot quick notes on the calendar to keep track of certain events.

There was a big anniversary last month.  We watched an old 1930s Western to celebrate.  It was a good day.

The first hummingbirds arrived right on schedule the first week of April.   They now spend most days in the honeysuckle thickets where I think they raise their young.

Zinnias, Nasturtiums, poppies and other seeds have been sown about the place.  They are popping up all over.

Millie and I have heard the song of the Summer Tanager for the past few mornings when we walked the trail but have not seen him yet.  His song is definitely one of the joys of summer.

The little black kitty has gone missing.  He was happy and playful one evening but gone the next morning.  I have been sad about that, but the other three are doing well.  I love them and they love me, but they don't care for other people.

Oh, dear, I'm so sorry the little one has disappeared! And yes, the days are going by quickly. I've been listening to a tufted titmouse calling all day. Must be having a well-earned rest now. ;). Singing can be hard work!

Oh...I'm sorry about the the sweet little black kitty.

You have the song of the Summer Tanager to serenade you in summer. For me it's the White-Crowned Sparrow. I weeded for an hour last evening and he kept me company with his sweet song.

Good morning, I think spring is so special-wonderful that your tanager is back-I don't think we have those here. Sorry about the missing kitty. Happy Friday and weekend hugs

The days certainly flash past, but the daylight hours are growing longer.

Hopefully the black kitten just went for a walk-about and will return soon all the wiser. Lovely brook.

The days do seem to be rushing by much too quickly. I want to enjoy Spring and Summer. My husband and I celebrated our 47th Anniversary May 1st. It was a very nice evening out. Here the day-lilies are just coming up from the earth...the tips of our trees are budding. So happy you and Millie are still enjoying your walks. I pray the little black kitty will return. I can imagine how sad you are. So happy the kitties and you have become so close. Happy Spring to you Mary.

Sorry to hear the kitty went missing.

Awww...that hurts my heart that the black kitten has gone. Hopefully he has found a new safe haven. Our spring is especially late this year. We still have many nights dipping below freezing....and lots and lots of rain. The only things repopulating (and growing!) are the rabbits it seems. Even the Eastern Phoebes were late arriving.

Oh so sorry to hear the black kitty has disappeared. I hope it returns. Spring plants are popping up here in Michigan finally. Happy Anniversary to you. Janice

So very sad when a little animal is missing. Hard to think of anything but them. Such a worry. Your little notes are enjoyable to read. I jot mine down in my notebook where I keep a list of what I eat and the calories each day. A good laugh for my daughters after I am dead and gone. :)

I forgot for *months* to fill the hummingbird feeder :-( and by the time I finally did last week, I think the little birds had forgotten all about me. When the pomegranate flowers come out they will probably come back, and then maybe they will notice again.
