Walk #300 was different. Millie and I loved it, for sure. A good snowfall around here isn't something that happens often, but when it does we kind of make a big deal of it. Why, the weather guys have been talking about this one for more than a week. I can only imagine how many sleds and snow shovels were sold during that time. I just made sure we had plenty of milk and bread... and bird seeds.

Beautiful photos and loved the quotes too-we got rain all night long and more early this morning-warm enough no ice as of yet. Next week looks brutally cold-ugh.

Beautiful photos...snow looks good on your homestead. But, me thinks Lady Bird Johnson never lived in Nod...or I was born old (or both??) Thoreau, however, captured waking up to an overnight snow perfectly. ~Robin~

I think we all love the idea of snow, so pure and still. Your pictures are very evocative. The Mr and I are off to Norway next week so I think I will be experiencing 'real' snow. Can't wait.
Snow is pretty common around here but yours seems to be so special in the area where you can get some delightful photos! I really like how you've shown your neck 'o the woods to us! Beautiful with nice quotes too!
The Thoreau quote reminds me poignantly of the soft thick snow that so often fell in VT--that familiar sense of awakening to what I think of as 'snow-light' and the hush that goes with it.
Love the photos! We got 7 inches of snow here and it stuck to the trees too. Pretty now that it is over, but we are supposed to get an inch more each day until Sunday. Looks like Millie enjoyed her walk too! Janice
I agree that snow is pretty but only from the inside looking out as far as I'm concerned. I'm not a fan otherwise. Your photo with the cardinal is wonderful!!
