I was so happy to find a red poppy blooming in the garden this morning. It reminds me so much of the red crepe paper flowers I made with my grandmother when I was a kid. She would have loved these red poppies.
I pressed this one flat to be placed in my journal when dry. I will collect seeds from other red blooms in hopes of having more next year. But I will also take seeds from the pink ones for they are quite lovely too.
We had rain late yesterday, then beautiful blue skies and lots of sunshine today.
The plants were happy.

Black Currant Swirl Moonflower....it is such an amazing bloom. Even the name is wonderful!! I'm glad you got the rain that you needed. The red Poppy looks very much like one I have. How I wish it were legal to send seeds by mail. I have some interesting colours this year. Too bad they're hidden behind some Rose bushes.
I should see if I can take a picture tomorrow.
Your sewing room is very very neat and tidy.
Your seeing room looks so inviting.
Nature provides us with so much beauty. Thank you for your lovely floral pics.
Good morning lovely blooms, and awesome cabinets in your sewing room hugs
Be still my heart! So lovely to see a post this morning because previously when I tapped on your blog link I saw 'this cannot be found'. So I thought you'd stopped blogging.
What beautiful flowers you have. I've never seen a real poppy but the petals do look like crepe paper.
That poppy simply looks too perfect to be real and I'm curious to know more about the Moonflower....does it bloom at night? We had a plant that was called a moonflower and it would bloom at dusk and then the flowers would shrivel up as soon as the daylight hit them. The neighbours thought we were nuts because we'd take the lawn chairs out and sit and watch the flowers tremble and then open...at least until the mosquitoes drove us in.
Your sewing room looks so lovely and tidy...are you sure you work in there?
Oh how I would like to have poppies like that bloom here to show off their loveliness to the lookie-lookies! I did plant some seeds, probably too late for this year. Time will tell. Your black swirl moonflower looks like another similar variety I've seen called Angel Tumpets. How very pretty!
Your poppy is so lovely and so is your home I love the storage furniture in your sewing room. Everything is so nice and tidy and fresh.
We have hardly seen the sun but we have had rain showers and gloomy clouds and fog. It doesn't even feel like summer. It's difficult to work in the gardens.
I'm glad that you did get some rain.
Take care, hugs.
Julia
That moonflower is positively glorious! I thought they only ever came in white. I had one for some time but it became so invasive and I was not very good at taming it so, eventually, it was removed. But if I had one like yours, I would care if it took over every inch of my yard. And what a wonderful space you have to create. I've all but given up on ever having my space rendered usable. ~Robin~
Your flower pictures are gorgeous. LOVE that big sunflower. They used to grow great down in town, but can't seem to get they to grow up here.
I use to make red poppies using crepe paper too with my gramma. Your sewing room looks mighty fie! I wish I had a dedicated room like that. Janice
That moonflower is beautiful. Your sewing room looks grand. I always get a paper poppy on Memorial day. I have pink annuals and orange perennials in my garden. No red ones.
I have never grown poppies not sure why I love them.
You sewing room looks like a lovely place to create.

Ah I love those crepe poppies. I have a few blooming now as well. Thanks for inspiring me to try picking one for pressing. Your sewing room looks so good...bet lots of creative endeavors will be happening there. Hope all is well. Take care and God Bless.
What lovely photos! That flower is truly beautiful. Actually, they all are. But the first one stands out the most. I wish you wonderful remaining days in June and a magnificent new month with God.
Yes, the poppies do look like paper. :) So much beautiful variety in nature.
