Rearranging the Shanty and Garden Closeups...

What a fun project this has been.  And Hubby just loves moving furniture. Ha! Ha!  Of course, one can't move just one thing without the domino effect kicking in.  The sewing room somehow got involved, but I will have more about that later.

It's through the Shanty windows that I enjoy watching the hummingbirds.  Activity around the feeders has picked up considerably this past week, so there's lots to see.

Despite our extremely dry conditions here, I am still enjoying quite a bit of color in the gardens.  The zinnias will start blooming in a few days.  I am anxiously awaiting to see what colors they will be this year - hopefully not so much yellow as last year.

Gorgeous photos Mary, and I love your Shanty-what a peaceful place-do you write letters there or read books? your garden is lovely-I don't have much blooming right now-the bee balm was gorgeous but the blooms are ending now.

I like how you decorated your shanty. It looks very inviting. What great pictures of the hummingbird and that pale oriental poppy. Such a delicate color.

Enjoy your sweet little shanty.

That shanty looks amazing! I would love to sit with you and watch the hummingbirds. I can't believe it is so dry, as everything looks great. Thanks for sharing.

In reference to the domino effect - in our household it's called the 'galloping ick'. I've been wanting to repaint our living room but then I remember that it will lead to most likely the entire apartment being done and I rapidly lose interest in the project.
So lovely to enjoy the hummingbirds outside your window. We got a fuschia and hung it on the balcony in hopes they would find it but not so far.

I'm feeling sooo comfortable in your shanty. It takes me away to another place of peaceful rest. The hummers here are contantly dipping and diving and fighting! One is a bully. Your poppy and dill stole my heart with their strength and beauty.

Rearranging is often a good idea, except where there are so many things take decisions about that you realise you have to accept things as they are for now! A good tidy up helps, and in the hot weather we are having now it's a fine thing to do indoors in the cool.
I do envy you your hummingbirds, so much more delicate and pretty that the hordes of young starlings who call our garden home at this time of year. Mind you watching them all try and crowd into the bird bath is everlastingly entertaining!

Your shanty speaks of comfort and peace to me. Methinks I'd spent too much time there. And that poppy is glorious. I've waited all year for the re-emergence of your lovely poppies. ~Robin~

Your shanty looks very cozy. I hope you took before and after pictures. Mine doesn't have much room to rearrange things and right now I need to get rid of a few odds and ends that are cluttering it up.
OH that delicate white poppy with the pale lilac edges. It is gorgeous!!

Not sure if you are like me but once you start moving things then you have to clean and scrub and then it really is a whole thing.
We have had lots of rain here I am thankful for it when I hear about how dry a lot of the country is.

Rearranging gives the room a new life. Your garden is lovely. We are the opposite we are getting some rain most days. So green and lush here.
