Trails and Paths We Walk...

Millie and Me ~ Our everyday hill....

Some days, it seems steeper than on others...

And longer too...

Millie and I, by ourselves, have been gathering up old brick pavers and laying them down where rough old creek rocks formerly served as pavers.  We really had to watch our steps on the rocks when carrying a load of hummingbird feeders this summer.  Who wants another broken wrist?  Everyone who sees these, including a certain old cow puncher, looks at us with new respect.  We love it!

The curvy path in the corner garden was a bit of a challenge because I didn't want to saw halves and quarter bricks, but after several trials and errors, I was satisfied.  The rock edging is made from the rough old creek rock pavers so you can imagine how difficult it was to walk on them.

We have been noticing so many beautiful webs that some fine ladies have been weaving here on the hill.  Over and under, round and round they go...  We are careful not to disturb them.  We loved the raindrops that collected on this one.  And, we loved the rain too!

I hope you are having a wonderful October.  It is going way too fast, though, don't you think?  Thank you for stopping by. Take care!

A lot of work moving all those creek rock papers out of the way for your new walkways, but the results are beautiful! Well done!

You have some truly beautiful property. That first photo is like a little peek at heaven. I would love to have trails like that to walk. You and Millie did a fine job on your pathways. Do you hire out?? ~Robin~

I liked seeing where you and Millie walk through the trees. Your path is quite something. I have made some brick paths but they are not as nice as what you've done. Mine are years old now and quite mossy which I don't mind.
Spider webs in Autumn are almost as special as the coloured leaves. You're right about the month going by too fast. Today started out very chilly but by afternoon it was quite lovely. Tomorrow its back to rain.
Take care!

Oh Mary, the walks you take and the things you do! Your life is full. I am happy that you were able to use something from your previous home and add it into your special garden. You did an amazing job. The spiders web's are a beautiful piece of artwork; although the spiders still scare me. ;o) Yes, October is passing much too quickly.

Your path through the woods looks like a fine way to enjoy the surroundings while still exercising. You have done an admirable job of rebuilding your walkway with the bricks. That took a lot of time and energy and is a very fine accomplishment! I love the dewy spiderweb even with the spider!!

You have such an amazing area to walk (and I suppose it doesn't hurt that you're probably checking the fencing as you go). And...you and Millie laying all those bricks...wow!! That's a huge accomplishment and no doubt a whole lot safer to walk upon.

That is a fantastic job on the garden path. I love the creek rock and how they look, but do know they are treacherous. I like them used as the edging. I also love where you walk. Just so inviting.

Laying pavers is hard work! Just carrying them is hard work! What a lovely job you've done. Those rough stone pavers are great as edging but I can't imagine how hard it must have been to WALK on them!

Hi Mary ... gosh your photos are just beautiful .. it looks so autumnal where you live. We are in full spring mode here in our part of the world. Your path looks amazing & you should feel very proud of the job you are doing. Julie 😊

The paths you and Millie walk are just beautiful, and that is the neatest fence I've ever seen. Is that for your cows? You did such a good job on the brick paths. I've been busy collecting rocks to outline our red brick gravel paths. It will be a long job in finishing but once I make up my mind...there's no turning back. :) That's a pretty web and such a scary looking spider. Spiders this time of the year are all strange looking. Your posts are always the best!

Bravo! My husband and I made a path of old, used bricks "some time" ago -- it was quite a challenge going up and down "hills" and around curves.

Yes, October is going way too fast. I haven't planted one seed in my freshly prepared planter boxes, so I'm failing to make use of the gentle rain that is falling this very moment.

And that is quite the spider too! Oh my. What a serene setting your story travels - beautiful.

Happy November, Mary, and if I'm not mistaken a very Happy Birthday too. I hope you're having a lovely day.

Somehow I missed this post-I guess I had been off the computer for a while. Such a lovely walk you have, and a beautiful garden! My gardens really need more than a few stalks cut though-I have quite a lot of work to do-we have had an awful lot of rain, so we're waiting for things to dry a bit. So good to hear from you!

Thank you, GM! Yes, today is my birthday. My sister came to see me which was great fun. Thank you for remembering.

It's November already! How does that happen? I love the first photo of Millie on the trail--my twin grandsons had a song about dog butts when they were six. They would have loved it. Ha! Your place is awe-inspiring, and yes, your cowpoke SHOULD be proud of the walks you made.

It was a lovely October here in Texas. How lovely and what a wonderful job you did on making the paths. You captured the spiders and their raindrop web so perfectly! Wishing you wonderful November days!
