Winter 2025

The Pond Jan. 10, 2025

We got snow!  Lots of it... A walloping  total of ten-inches.  Millie and I made our daily walk, despite the fact that I had only 7-inch boots.  Thanks to Dan who made tracks in the snow for us to follow.  How beautiful everything looked!  I have no words to describe it.  Just Wow!  Walk #1,008 was certainly not one to be missed!

I know this post is long on pictures and short on words, but, as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.

I will add that the kitties holed up somewhere during this entire event for 2 1/2 days, but are all safely back in the fold.

My heart skips a beat when I see your dog, as I certainly miss all of my beloved pets. Anyway, you enjoyed your 10" of snow and I've absolutely hated the 12" dropped here and much still remains. I loved snow as a kid and as a young adult who cross country skied, but no longer. Hope all the snow goes in your direction, lol.

It is so very strange to read of all the other parts of the country receiving more snow than us. That almost never ever happens here in Nod. And, definitely I don't begrudge you a single flake of it LOL. We got a little more than 2"...then freezing rain (odd, since the temps are very cold), and then a light dusting of snow on top of that. And now really frigid temps on the way...windchills of -15--20º tonight/tomorrow. Your photos are fantastic though. Despite my dislike for the white stuff, I am among the first to fall under the spell of its beauty. ~Robin~

Your wintry wonderland is magical!

So, so beautiful. I hope your 7 inch boots didn't allow snow into them. Lovely to see Millie appreciating the great (cold) outdoors. The photograph of the tractor is so striking, the green and yellow contrasting with the snow.

I so love a wet snow when it sticks to everything. Makes it much more prettier. Your pics are very pretty. We only got 4 inches and had flurries yesterday. The ice came down and has jammed up, causing the ferries not to run from the islands here now. Not good for folks who rely on them to cross back and forth...but they know this could happen during the Winter months. janice

This Monday morning is -16 feels like -22 outside. We have lots of the white snow outside. The snow is pretty; but the cold weather seems harder to take every year. Wish we could be snow birds and travel to warmer weather. ;o) You have some beautiful snow pictures. So happy you were able to continue with your walks. Thankful Dan helped out so you could walk without getting that snow down your boots! Stay safe and warm.

We got about the same amount of snow and I'm so done with it. I'm heartily tired of having to clean the car off and have to say I miss having a garage. I do agree that it's pretty to look at but not so fun to deal with.

That bird in your banner picture is a great character -- I think he might be looking for spring.
