Rain and Other Happenings...

Rain!  My what a blessing each drop was.  We were all of higher spirits today.

The day was a hot one however, so that we all sought cooler places.

It was a hot day to come into this world, but mother and baby are doing fine.  I plan to keep this little blue roan heifer for my very own.  She will be a beauty.  I think I will name her Rainey.

It was, however, a perfect day to put in some final stitches.  There's more  over on the other blog.

It rained here today too, and much appreciated. Your little calf is adorable, I can see why you want to keep her!

Well, it seems your Dan was correct about the rain... I am glad for you. We were unbearably (for us anyway) hot today as well...and so humid. They said 1% chance of rain...and then the skies opened and made fools of those who said such. ~Robin~

Poured here too last night. Next several days will be even hotter with high humidity levels. But it is summer along the Atlantic coast of Delalware and Maryland.

WE got a gentle soaking rain yesterday it was much needed and today things are green and lovely. We are warm but not the horrid heat most of the country is having. we still have a lovely cooling breeze. Congrats on your new calf so very sweet.

How fortunate that you got rain and what a great photo with the raindrops.
That roan calf is so cute. In the dialect that we spoke at home that colour of calf/cow was referred to as Shemmel ( emphasis on the first syllable).
Rainey is a perfect name for your calf.

What a cute lil heifer. Please keep us updated on her growing up. A perfect name too. Also could you send some rain our way. We sure could use it. Janice

We had a lovely day of rain yesterday and I know the farmers welcomed it.
Rainey is a perfect name for that wee girl. She needs some skritches on that sweet little nose.

Rain and a calf, and summer keeping on. Sweetness.

Your photographs are absolutely gorgeous. Each one should be on a wall. The dress is so perfect! Rain does help to relax agitated nerves from droughts. We sure need more!

Forgot to add to my post on Thimbleberries! The Copper Country of Upper Michigan is well-known for our beloved thimbleberries that only grow in the woods along the old railroad grades and logging roads of the northern parts of the U.P. Thimbleberry jam has a robust, rich flavor that is a old-time family favorite on toast or muffins. Try it drizzled on top of your favorite baked bars or as a topping on some fresh vanilla ice cream. You'll love it! This Wild Thimbleberry Jam does not have any added Pectin, additives or fillers.

Mary so glad you received rain. I think Rainey is adorable. I can see why she would be a "keeper". Loved seeing your zinnia and poppies from your previous post. Looks like by watering them they are surviving the dry spell. Your drawing of Millie and me is so touching. We certainly love those companions that keep their steps near us. Hugs!
